Viv Richards, also known as King Viv, added the most glorious chapter in the history of Cricket. He made his team big, on and off the ground. In the year 2000, a panel of 100 judges voted him as the Cricketer of the century alongside Sachin Tendulkar, Shane Warne, and Sir Garfield Sobers. In 2002, Wisden Cricketer’s Almanac titled him as the best ODI inning player of all time. In the same year, Richards was chosen as the best ODI batsman. His feats include 1710 runs at the rate of 90 backed by 7 centuries in 11 Tests. West Indies enjoyed the pride of not losing a test series under his Captainship. The 1975 inaugural World Cup is marked as the most significant chapter of his career. He also took West Indies to the finals with a century in 1979. Until 2005, he was the sole cricketer to hit a century and snatch 5 wickets in One Day International.
