Amelia Mary Earhart was born on 24 July 1897 and disappeared on 2 July 1937. She was an American aviation pioneer and author. She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. During a flight to circumnavigate the globe, she disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean. Many researchers believe that the plane ran out of fuel and ditched into the Sea. It is also assumed that Earhart may have turned back on the mid-flight. It is said that she had tried to reach the airfield at Rabaul, New Britain. Earhart was a widely known international celebrity during her lifetime. Earhart’s shyly charismatic appeal, independence, coolness under pressure, courage, and goal-oriented career along with the circumstances of her disappearance at a comparatively early age have driven her lasting fame into popular culture. A lot of articles and books have been written about her life. Amelia is generally regarded as a feminist icon.
